The Brothers of Marion 6 have undertaken the monumental, yet critical task of restoring the Marion Masonic Temple back to a historically representative state. Many rooms are being restored back to the original brick and stamped tin ceiling. Colors from color palettes from the 1890s are being used to recreate the original environment.

A derecho struck Eastern Iowa in 2020, tearing open the ceiling and exposing the inside of the building to inches of rain over the week following the initial storm. Reconstruction efforts are ongoing and are following the same painstaking process as the renovation efforts to create a historic, Masonic environment unlike any other in Iowa. Check back periodically for updates as we work toward the complete restoration, increasing accessibility by adding an elevator, and reopening the building for potential rentals.
